Gisela Schütz

Gisela Schütz (born March 8, 1955 in Ottobeuren ) is a German physicist . She is Director and Scientific Member at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems .

Life

Gisela Schütz studied physics until 1979 and received her PhD in nuclear physics at the Technical University of Munich in 1984 . In 1989 she was awarded the Klung Wilhelmy Science Prize for her work on the study of magnetism with circularly polarized synchrotron radiation . In 1992 she completed her habilitation in experimental physics at the Technical University of Munich. In 1997 she took over the chair for experimental physics at the University of Würzburg, where she worked as a university professor. In 2001 she became director at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research, today's Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems .
