Giulia Carciotto

Giulia Maria Lorenza Carciotto (born May 29, 1975 ) is an Italian art historian and editor.

Life

Carciotto studied iconography and iconology at La Sapienza University in Rome from 1995 to 1999 and then went to the Warburg Institute in London as a research assistant in the field of art history .

From July to December 1999 she did an internship at Christie's in London. In 2000 she became editor of Franco Maria Ricci's art magazine FMR in Milan, where she was editor-in- chief from October 2004 to March 2006 . After that, she was with FMR 'art'e April 2006 to December 2014 Managing Editor in Bologna.

Since 2010 she has also been Professor of Printing and Publishing History ( Storia della stampa e dell'editoria ) at the Accademia di belle arti di Palermo (Academy of Fine Arts Palermo ) and has been teaching the same subject at the private, state-recognized academy since 2013 Abadir ( Abadir - Accademia di Design e Arti Visive ) in Sant'Agata li Battiati .

At the same time, she was a freelance editor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 2012 to 2014, at Ediciones El Viso in Madrid from 2012 to 2015 and at the Taschen Verlag since 2016 .
