Giulio Cesare Vinci Gigliucci (diplomat, 1858)

Giulio Cesare Vinci Gigliucci (born November 25, 1858 in Fermo ; † February 15, 1934 ibid) was an Italian diplomat . He was the son of Blanca Porzi and Raffaele Vinci Gigliucci. On May 16, 1907, he married Ida Curi in Fermo.

Life

On July 11, 1881 he completed his law studies at the University of La Sapienza and entered the foreign service on July 31, 1883. On August 17, 1883, he was appointed attaché in Copenhagen . On October 28, 1883 he was transferred to The Hague and on March 1, 1884 to Copenhagen . On December 21, 1885, he was transferred to Berlin . On November 14, 1888, he was transferred to the Foreign Ministry, where he was appointed second class legation secretary on June 3, 1890. On March 10, 1891 he was assigned to the embassy in Bern and on January 11, 1895 to the embassy in Washington, DC . On March 1, 1896, he was transferred to Rio de Janeiro . On April 16, 1896, his appointment was made to Washington. DC Approved by the Senate. With effect from November 18, 1896, he was appointed Secretary of the First Class. On March 7, 1897, he was appointed a delegate to the 1897 Universal Postal Congress in Washington, DC . On March 29, 1900, he was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On April 19, 1901, he was sent to London, where he was appointed Legation Councilor on August 31, 1901, and Envoy Extraordinary and Ministre plénipotentiaire on April 13, 1902 .

On June 30, 1904, he was appointed envoy extraordinary and to the Ministre plénipotentiaire in Tokyo , where he was accredited on October 5, 1906. On August 5, 1907, he was appointed extraordinary envoy Ministre plénipotentiaire, third class, and on September 3, 1911, Ministre plénipotentiaire, second class. On February 2, 1913, he was appointed Ministre plénipotentiaire first class, and on January 29, 1914, he was temporarily retired .

He was drafted into the Foreign Ministry on December 2, 1915 and retired on February 1, 1918 with the rank of ambassador, second class .

Awards

On May 25, 1882 he was awarded the Medaglia d'argento al Valor civile (silver medal for civil bravery). On January 1, 1918, he was appointed Senatore del Regno (Senator). With effect from November 28, 1926 he was appointed to the board of the consiglio del contenzioso diplomatico (diplomatic arbitration committee).
