Giuseppe Brioschi

Giuseppe (Josef) Brioschi (* 1802 in Trezzano sul Naviglio , † 1856 in Vienna ) was an Italian-Austrian decorative painter.

life and work

Giuseppe Brioschi received his training from Pio Sanquirico (1847–1900), whom he helped with the work inside the Milan Cathedral . In 1838 he was appointed court theater painter to the Kärntnertor Theater in Vienna , where he worked until his death. He took part in the exhibitions of the Vienna Academy with vedute and history pictures.

Giuseppe Brioschi is the father of the painter Carlo Brioschi .
