Giuseppe Felice Tosi

Giuseppe Felice Tosi (born February 8, 1628 in Bologna ; † 1693 there ) was an Italian organist , conductor and composer .

With the exception of a few years (1680 to 1683), when he was Kapellmeister in Ferrara , he worked in his hometown as an organist at various churches and was a member of the influential Accademia Filarmonica . His son Pier Francesco Tosi was a well-known castrato and composer and was active as a singing teacher in many European cities.

In addition to other works, Giuseppe Felice Tosi created a number of solo cantatas and operas that show him as an accomplished and imaginative composer.
