Giuseppe Mancini (civil engineer)

Giuseppe Mancini (born January 1, 1947 in Pizzo (Calabria) ) is an Italian civil engineer.

Mancini obtained his Laureate Degree in Civil Engineering at the Turin Polytechnic in 1972 , where he has been a full professor since 1986.

He planned around 140 road and railway bridges (reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, composite structures).

From 2004 to 2006 he was president of fib . From 2005 to 2008 he was chairman of the European Commission for Concrete Structures (SC 2) of the Eurocodes and he was chairman of the Eurocodes EN 1992-2 for concrete bridges.

In 2018 he received the Freyssinet Medal . He has been a corresponding member of the Turin Academy of Sciences since 2006. Mancini is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
