Givat Chaim ( Hebrew גִּבְעַת חַיִּים English Givat Haim , also Haim Hill ) was a kibbutz about five kilometers south of Hadera in Israel .

Founded in 1932 by European immigrants as Kibbutz Gimel , it was later renamed in honor of the Zionist politician Chaim Arlosoroff , who was murdered in 1933 .

In 1952, due to ideological differences between the supporters of the two competing socialist parties Mapai and Mapam , the kibbutz split into two new kibbutzim that still exist today.

  • Givat Chaim (Ichud) with 1137 inhabitants (as of 2018), the Beit Terezin memorial has been located there since 1975 .
  • Givat Chaim (Meuchad) with 1006 inhabitants (as of 2018).

The two kibbutzim belong to the regional association Emek Chefer .
