Gjon Delhusa (born August 9, 1953 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian singer , composer and lyricist .

Career

Delhusa began his musical career in 1971 with the release of his first song Hegyek lányain in Hungary. After a successful appearance at the International Schlagerfestival Dresden in 1974, where he was one of the prize winners, he received a recording contract with the GDR label Amiga and released his first single, Mein first Mädchen, sung in German. In 1978 the German-language debut album Gjon Delhusa was released . Delhusa signed a 3-year contract with Teldec in 1979 . Here the debut album produced by Amiga in 1978 was reissued and released under the title Flieg mit dem Wind . In 1981 there were further record releases. In the mid-80s, Delhusa withdrew from Germany. He produced other songs and albums for the Hungarian music market. In 1996 he was to represent Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo . Since he could not place himself in the qualifying round with his self-composed ballad Fortuna with 26 points, he was not allowed to participate in the actual competition. In 2009 Delhusa took part in the Hungarian version of the jungle camp.

In 2005 Delhusa was honored with the Golden Cross of Merit of Hungary.
