The Glöckle is a chapel in Wollbach , a district of Burkardroth in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen . The Glöckle chapel is one of the architectural monuments of Burkardroth and is registered under the number D-6-72-117-122 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

One of the few known historical pieces of information about the Glöckle Chapel is that it was built in 1952 and replaced a timber and clay building from 1817.

A fountain and a wayside shrine are part of the chapel . Inside the chapel houses an altar with a Sacred Heart figure created by Rudolf Rost (stonemason and former mayor of Stralsbach ). Next to the altar is a wooden sculpture of the Mother of God , which according to oral tradition is more than 100 years old, as well as a statue of St. Wendelinus .

In the roof there is a bell that comes from the previous chapel and is probably the origin for the name of the Glöckle chapel. It was rung during fire and similar emergencies, as well as when it was dark.

Since the Glöckle was founded , citizens of Wollbach have volunteered to look after the chapel in the center of the village.
