The Glückauf barracks is a barracks of the Bundeswehr in Unna - Königsborn in North Rhine-Westphalia . It houses the staff as well as the 1st and 3rd company of the supply battalion 7 of the Bundeswehr. It was also the seat of the Brigade Staff of the Logistics Brigade 100 .
history
The barracks became known by a weapons theft in March 2005 in which nine from a weapons repair G36 - assault rifles were stolen. The perpetrator or perpetrators have not yet been found.
The repair battalion 7, which was formerly stationed there, was reorganized into logistics battalion 7 in 2007. The logistics brigade 100 was dissolved in the same year.
As part of the realignment of the Bundeswehr , it was announced in October 2011 that Logistics Battalion 7 would be restructured to Supply Battalion 7 in 2015. Only the staff and the headquarters company as well as another company of the battalion are to remain in Unna. The number of service posts at the Unna location has been reduced from around 1,100 (as of October 2011) to around 630.

Trivia
There is a "Freundeskreis Glückauf-Kaserne", which became known through a signature campaign in 2007 for the preservation of the barracks.
