Glaisher is a bowl-shaped impact crater on the front of the moon in the mountains between Palus Somni and Mare Crisium , west of Greaves and southwest of Yerkes .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the English meteorologist and aeronaut James Glaisher .
