Glassworks (Kreuth)
Glashütte is a district of the municipality of Kreuth in the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach .
history
The town of Glashütte was first mentioned in a document in 1673, but under the name “Sylva”, meaning “in the forest”. It got its current name because a glassworks was operated there from 1688 to 1698 . It was not rebuilt after a fire that year. However, an inn was built and shortly afterwards the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary.
