family

The Duchemin family continues the tradition of glass painting today in the sixth generation . The family's first glass painter was Frédéric Duchemin, who worked in various studios. His son Georges, the second generation, worked for the Adam company and then for Jacques Grüber and Max Ingrand . His son, Raymond Duchemin, also worked for Jacques Grüber in Paris.

Company formation

It was not until Raymond's son, Claude Duchemin (the fourth generation), that he set up his own business in Paris at the end of the 1950s. Claude had studied at the École nationale supérieure des metiers d'art in Paris and then worked in the Atelier Bony, where he met Henri Matisse and Georges Rouhout to create the stained glass windows of the Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Grâces church on the Plateau d 'Assy in Passy ( Haute-Savoie ) to be completed.

In 1976 Claude Duchemin's daughter, Dominique, joined the company and took over management in 1976. Today, Marie Rousvoal, a daughter from his marriage to Gilles Rousvoal, who also works in the company, is the sixth generation of the family who work as a glass painter.
