Waldkraiburg Glass Museum

The Waldkraiburg Glass Museum is a glass museum that is housed in the House of Culture in Waldkraiburg ( Upper Bavaria ).

Duration

About 800 glasses, most of which come from northern Bohemia, are shown on almost 200 m² . Most of the exhibits date from the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to historical glasses, there are many pieces from the Biedermeier period . Glasses from the environment of the glass schools in Haida and Steinschönau attest to the development and skill of the North Bohemian glass industry. In addition to friendship mugs, Vedouten glasses as well as historic tankards and jugs are on display .

The workpieces of the glass painter and entrepreneur Friedrich Egermann (1777–1864), who with his 200 employees manufactured glass products of a high technical, technical and aesthetic level using the lithyalin and red pickling technique he had devised, are a specialty.
