The glass bead anemone ( Heteractis aurora ) is a sea ​​anemone from the tropical coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific and the Red Sea . Glass bead anemones are pale white, brown, or purple in color. They have tentacles that are up to five centimeters long and swell at small intervals so that they look like short pearl necklaces. Your mouth disk reaches a diameter of 30 centimeters. They dig their feet deep into the sand and completely withdraw into the substrate in case of danger. Glass bead anemones live in symbiosis with zooxanthellae , from which they get some of the nutrients they need.

Glass bead anemones are symbiotic anemones and an important symbiotic partner of the anemonefish . They accept a total of seven species from the Amphiprion clarkii complex and, in its youth, the triangular Prussian fish ( Dascyllus trimaculatus ) as partners.

The glass bead anemone is very difficult to keep in a saltwater aquarium .
