Glauke (daughter of Danaos)
Glauke ( ancient Greek Γλαύκη Glaúkē ) is in Greek mythology a daughter of Danaos , the king of Libya . She is therefore one of the Danaids . Her mother was either Atlanteie or Phoibe , both hamadryads , with whom Danaos had nine other daughters.
At the mass wedding of the 50 daughters of Danaos with the 50 sons of Aegyptus , at which lot decided on the pairing, her husband was assigned to Alkis , the son of an Arab mother. Like all of her sisters with the exception of the Hypermestra , she killed her husband on their wedding night.
