Aegyptiads
In Greek mythology, the Aegyptiads are the 50 sons of Aegyptus and spouses of the Danaids .
The Aegyptiads wanted to make the Danaids their wives against their will, in order to secure the royal rights over the land - or to keep the property together through marriage of relatives.
The names of the Aegyptiads are on the one hand passed down in the library of Apollodorus , on the other hand Hyginus Mythographus offers an incomplete list of 47 sons in his fabulae , which is poorly handed down in the manuscripts . Both lists show considerable differences. Many names of the Aegyptiads indicate a high-spirited and impetuous nature of their bearers.
