Elektra (daughter of Danaos)
Elektra ( ancient Greek Ἠλέκτρα ) is in Greek mythology a daughter of Danaos , the king of Libya , and the naiad Polyxo . She is therefore one of the Danaids .
According to the library of Apollodor Peristhenes , the son of the naiad Kaliadne , she was assigned as husband at the mass wedding of the 50 daughters of Danaos with the 50 sons of Aegyptus , at which lot decided on the pairing , while with Hyginus Mythographus Hyperantus her husband was assigned has been. Like most of her sisters, she killed her husband on their wedding night.
