Gerd Rehder

Gerd Rehder (* 1927 ; † March 8,  2019 ) was a German basketball player .

Life

Rehder was a German national basketball player and played 16 international matches. He played for the Hamburg club Eimsbütteler TV , played a decisive role in the run-up to the founding of the club SC Rist Wedel by teaching the Wedel sports teachers basics of basketball, sat on the club's board after the founding and was active as a trainer in the beginning. In 1970, he and Rist Wedel won the German championship for over 40s (age group III). His son Dirk Rehder was a German national youth basketball player, grandson Lukas Rehder was a first division player in American football .
