Dirk Rehder

Dirk Rehder (* 1962 ) is a former German basketball player .

Life

Rehder's father Gerd was a national basketball player. Dirk Rehder played in the youth of SC Rist Wedel , with whom he became German B youth champion in 1979, as well as the men's team of SC Rist Wedel. In 1979 he took part with the German national cadet team at the  European championship for this age group held in Damascus , Syria . He left Rist Wedel in 1980 to move to Hamburg TB , for which he played in the basketball Bundesliga in the 1980/81 season . The following stations of the 1.85 meter tall winger, who also played in the Bundeswehr national team, were OSC Bremerhaven, TV Ibbenbüren and MTV Wolfenbüttel. In 1987 Rehder moved within the2. Basketball Bundesliga returned from Wolfenbüttel to Wedel, but had to sit out until December 1987 because the two clubs could not agree on a transfer fee. In the season 87/88 he reached the semifinals in the DBB Cup with Rist Wedel (in the semifinals against Bundesliga club BG Steiner-Optik Bayreuth he scored 26 points) and became second division champions. He played for Wedel in the second division until 1989, later he was  manager of the second division together with Christian Pauk . Rehder's son Lukas made it to the top division of American football .
