David Sauer (born February 20, 1998 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Sauer began his career at SKN St. Pölten . For the 2011/12 season he switched to AKA St. Pölten , where he subsequently went through all age groups. For the 2016/17 season he returned to the SKN. After his return he made his debut for the amateurs in the Regionalliga in August 2016 when he came on as a substitute for Ömer Özbek in the 61st minute against SV Schwechat on the first day of that season . In May 2018 he scored his first goal in the regional league in a 4-0 win against FCM Traiskirchen .

In April 2019 he was against LASK for the first time in the team of professionals from St. Pölten, but was not used. He finally made his Bundesliga debut in May 2019 when he was substituted on for Daniel Schütz on match day 30 of the 2018/19 season against Wolfsberger AC in stoppage time .
