Sthenele (daughter of Danaos)
Sthenele ( ancient Greek Σθενέλη ) is a daughter of Danaos , king of Libya , and Memphis in Greek mythology . She is therefore one of the Danaids and is the sister of Chrysippe and Kleite from the same mother .
While in most of the other weddings of the 50 daughters of Danaos, the Danaids, with the 50 sons of Aegyptus the lot decided on the pairing, with the three sisters the similarity of the names formed the basis for the choice of the husband. So Sthenele was married to Sthenelos , while Chrysippe received Chrysippus , and Kleite received Kleitos as husband.
In the incomplete catalog of the daughters of Danaos in Hyginus Mythographus , both Sthenele and Sthenelos are missing.
