Kelaino (daughter of Danaos)
Kelaino ( ancient Greek Κελαινώ Kelainṓ ) is in Greek mythology a daughter of Danaos , the king of Libya , and the Krino . She is therefore one of the Danaids .
At the mass wedding of the 50 daughters of Danaos with the 50 sons of Aigyptus , at which lot decided on the pairing, Hyperbios , the son of Hephaistine , was assigned to her as husband. Like most of her sisters, she killed her husband on their wedding night.
Strabon knew to report that the Danaide Kelaino (Celaeno) had a son named Kelainos (Celvanus) with Poseidon .
