Pluskota, who started his career for Olimpia Goleszów and WKS Zakopane , made his international debut at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1981 in Schonach , where he finished 53rd. In January 1985 he started in Liberec for the first time in the European Cup , but missed the points. A few weeks later he took third place twice in the lower-class Beskydy Tour , which was organized outside of the FIS at the time , and finally ended up in second place behind Ingo Lesser in the overall standings.
Pluskota had his best season in the winter of 1985/86, in which he made his debut in the World Cup without success , but placed in the top 10 in the European Cup several times. In addition, he was together with Zbigniew Bobak , Zbigniew Klimowski and Jan Kowal Polish champion from the Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane . In the individual competitions he won his only individual medal from the large hill with bronze, while he was fourth from the Średnia Krokiew .
