DC low level data transmission

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The technique of G leichstrom- D Data transmission with n iedrigem level (GDN) permits data transfer to subscriber lines in the local network of a telephone exchange . One in the GDR name used was G et up instrument for D aten- N ah-transmission or data-Nah-transmission device ( DNÜ ) Depending on the cable length, distances of 10 km at a transmission speed of 4800 bit / s can be achieved. A direct connection using a copper cable is required; Amplifiers and regenerators are not permeable to direct current.

The Deutsche Bundespost offered such systems around 1985; today this type of transmission is out of date.
