Gleisenau Castle

Gleisenau is a district of the municipality Ebelsbach in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge . The place was mentioned in documents in the 9th century as Glisinawa .

In the middle of the 16th century, the Fuchs family built a moated castle. In the middle of the 18th century the community went to the Groß von Trockau family. The present castle with castle chapel dates from this time . In the 1960s, the palace and grounds were sold to private owners by the Groß von Trockau family. Until the territorial reform, which came into force on July 1, 1971, Gleisenau was an independent municipality. Today the castle serves the community and the Ebelsbach administrative community as the administrative center and houses a primary school.

The Protestant parish church of Gleisenau was built in 1711 in the baroque style.
