Glen Milton Storr

Glen Milton Storr (born December 22, 1921 in Adelaide , † June 26, 1990 ) was an Australian herpetologist and ornithologist .

Storr was from 1939 as a surveyor and draftsman at the South Australian Lands Department (interrupted from military service in World War II). In 1947 he became a licensed surveyor. From 1953 he studied at the University of Western Australia , where he received his doctorate in 1960 and did research on kangaroos until 1962. From 1962 Storr was assistant curator and from 1963 curator for vertebrates at the Western Australian Museum in Perth , where he became curator for ornithology and herpetology in 1965.

Storr worked on cataloging the birds and reptiles of Western Australia. He first described 179 species of reptiles. Several reptiles were named in his honor ( Carlia storri (Ingram & Covacevich, 1989), Ctenotus storri (Rankin, 1978), Lerista storri (Greer, McDonald & Lawrie, 1983), Morethia storri (Greer, 1980), Varanus storri (Mertens , 1966)).
