Glenn Catley (born March 15, 1972 in Sudbury , Suffolk ) is a former British professional boxer and former WBC world champion in super middleweight.
Career
He started professional boxing in 1993 and also defeated Kirkland Laing in 1994. In January 1997 he won the WBC International Middleweight Championship against Georges Bocco, but lost the title in June to the strong Hungarian András Gálfi. In January 1998, he secured the British Middleweight Championship against Neville Brown. In his next fight in September 1998, he boxed for the WBC World Super Middleweight Championship, but lost just on points to Richie Woodhall .
In October 1998 he finally defeated András Gálfi and in December 1999 Eric Lucas . Then he boxed again in May 2000 for the WBC world championship in super middleweight and defeated the undefeated Markus Beyer prematurely in the twelfth round. But in his first title defense in September, he lost himself in the twelfth round against Dingaan Thobela .
He then lost in the rematch against Éric Lucas and suffered two defeats against Danilo Häussler in European championship matches . In 2007 he ended his active career.
