Glenn John McQueen

Glenn John McQueen (born December 24, 1960 in Toronto , Ontario , Canada , † October 29, 2002 in Berkeley , California , United States ) was a Canadian supervisor at Pixar and PDI .

Life

McQueen attended Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario in 1985 and was then sent on a scholarship to the  New York Institute of Technology Computer Graphics Lab  , where he headed the 3-D production department for film effects, TV spots and scientific visuals did, worked.

From 1994 he worked at Pixar Amination Studios (partly because of his interest in  Toy Story  and his respect for  John Lasseter ), where he produced the animation on Pixar's early successes (including Toy Story, Das große Krabbeln, Toy Story 2 and Die Monster AG) .

McQueen was also a member of the  Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences  in  Hollywood

He was married to Terry McQueen and has one daughter. 

McQueen died of malignant melanoma in Berkeley, California, aged 41. His death occurred in the production of Finding Nemo, which is dedicated to him. His former colleagues also received homage by naming the main character in the film Cars  Lightning McQueen  .
