This is a list with descriptions of the characters from the Pixar films Cars from 2006, Cars 2 from 2011 and Cars 3: Evolution from 2017.
Rust-Eze team
Lightning McQueen
Lightning McQueen, called "Lightning", occasionally called "Sticker" by Sally, is the protagonist of the film Cars and is dubbed by Daniel Brühl and Manou Lubowski . It's named after Glenn McQueen, a Pixar animator who died of melanoma in October 2002, although the car shares traits with actor and racing driver Steve McQueen . His entire profile was inspired by stock cars and Le Mans endurance racers such as Lola and Ford GT40 .
At the beginning of the first film, Lightning McQueen was a talented and arrogant racing car who was haughty, especially towards its pit crew. He wanted to be the first newcomer to win the Piston Cup and a lucrative contract with Dinoco in the last race of the season, but ended the race in a tie-break with the multiple runner -up Chick Hicks and the veteran strip "The King" Weathers when he was the big one Lost lead due to burst rear tire. Lightning also wanted the Dinoco deal because of his aversion to its somewhat awkward Rust-Eze sponsorship and the rusty cars in it.
After being lost by his "Mack" van on the way to California, he gets lost in the city of Radiator Springs and meets new friends whom he helps restore to its old splendor. There he befriends the tow truck Hook and Sally, a lawyer and hotel owner. He also learns what true friendship means, how greed affects people, the importance of keeping promises and teamwork, and that the way, not the goal, is crucial.
When Chick Hicks rams Weathers in the final race "The King" and he overturns, Lightning stops in the lead at the finish line and turns back so that he can honorably push the badly damaged Weathers over the finish line the rest of the way of his last race. The audience is happy about this fair gesture.
Lightning is then offered to come to Dinoco, but he explains that he wants to stay with the team to whom he owes the big breakthrough, and with them he finally wins seven titles.
Mack
Mack is a 1980 Mack Superliner truck with the registration number "RUSTEZ3" and is dubbed by Hartmut Neugebauer . As a dedicated member of the Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment Team, Mack attracts Lightning McQueen's supporters to his races. After the entire McQueen pit crew quit, Mack remains McQueen's only friend. McQueen gets Mack to drive through to California all night. During the long drive, however, Mack falls asleep and falls victim to the Delinquent Road Hazards , a group of reckless rascals. Mack pushes this group back and forth. This brings Mack to the bumpy roadside. As a result of the shaking, a bobble head falls on a button for the ramp on McQueen's trailer. Now the flap of the trailer opens and McQueen slowly rolls out asleep. Mack initially does not register McQueen's absence. It is only when Mack opens his trailer at the LA racetrack that his absence is noticed. After Doc gave the decisive clue about McQueen's whereabouts, Mack drives to Radiator Springs and transports McQueen to Los Angeles at the threat of his agent . In McQueen's tie-breaker races, he serves as McQueen's pit crew until a group of friends from Radiator Springs come to help McQueen. After the race, Mack moves to Radiator Springs with McQueen.
McQueen's pit crew
Lightning McQueen's pit crew are normal forklifts . After McQueen didn't go into the pits to change tires and almost forfeited the win of the season, they quit. The likely current crew chief - the official crew chief was recently dismissed - was then called "Chuck" by McQueen. This replied angrily "My name is not Chuck". In the credits he is referred to as "Not Chuck" (a play on words) and is dubbed in the original version by Mike "No Name" Nelson.
Harv
Harv is Lightning McQueen's agent. He is never seen on the screen. When McQueen and Mack are on their way to the tie-breaker race, McQueen speaks to Harv through his speakers. He threatened to fire Mack if he doesn't bring McQueen to Los Angeles immediately. Otherwise nothing is known about Harv. According to the information it is a Ford Granada .
Rusty and Dusty Rust-Eze
The Rust-eze Brothers, Rusty and Dusty (in the German version Kling and Klang) are the owners of Rust-Eze, the team that sponsored Lightning McQueen and gave him his big break. Rusty is a 1963 Dodge Dart convertible and Dusty is a 1964 Dodge A100 .
Dinoco team
Strip "The King" Weathers
Strip "The King" Weathers is a Dinoco Blue veteran racing car and is being dubbed by Niki Lauda . It is based on Richard Petty's 1970 Plymouth Superbird , its number 43 was also Petty's racing car number. The "Dinoco Blue" color was adopted from the Pettys Superbird exhibited in the Richard Petty Museum. Along with Chick Hicks and Lightning McQueen, it is one of the racing cars in the 2005 Piston Cup tie-breaker. He is Dinoco's golden boy and hopes for victory in the tie-break race, his last race. He challenges Lightning McQueen to remember the importance of the team.
Hicks rammed Weathers, which resulted in a dangerous crash. McQueen sees this and remembers the bad accident and the associated retirement of Doc Hudson. Because he wants the King to experience a worthy end to his career, he pushes him over the finish line.
Lynda Weathers / Mrs. The King
Mrs. The King, as Hook calls her, is the wife of The King and a Chrysler Town & Country station wagon. It is dubbed by Eva-Maria Bayerwaltes . During the race she sits in a special VIP box next to Tex and keeps her fingers crossed for her husband.
Tex Dinoco
Tex Dinoco, voiced by Norbert Gastell , is a gold 1975 Cadillac Coupe de Ville and owner of Dinoco. It is unknown if it is Dinoco Tex's last name or if the name was simply added to give the consumer a better idea of their personality. Tex's graphic design was inspired by the long-horned golden Cadillacs that drove guests to dinner at the Big Texan Steak Restaurant in Amarillo , Texas .
Dinoco transport helicopter
The Dinoco transport helicopter Rotor Turbowsky is based on a Bell 430 . During the race he can be seen on the Dinoco tent. At the end of the film, Hook takes a helicopter flight after Lightning Hook promised he could fly in one.
Hostile Takeover Bank team
Chick Hicks
Chick Hicks, dubbed Christian Tramitz , closely resembles a General Motors G platform car and has features from the Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Buick Grand National . The main antagonist of the first film, he rams Lightning McQueen and The King to win the Piston Cup. His sponsor is the "Hostile Takeover Bank." His pit crew is mean to Guido because he's tiny, even though his skills are better than their own. His number in the race, 86, refers to the founding date of Pixar Studios .
He is determined to win and often rams other racing cars. Why he always gets away with no penalty is not explained. He envies McQueen, but tends to copy him and takes the nickname " Thunder ", which McQueen originally used as a disparagement. Since Chick Hicks is always defeated by The King in the race, he envies him as well as Lightning McQueen. Chick and McQueen both have a desire to become the new face of Dinoco Oil.
In the last lap of the tie-breaker race, he doesn't make it in front of Weathers, which is why he rams him so hard that it flies off the track and ends up as a scrap heap after a devastating and terrifying crash in which he rolls over several times. Chick Hicks awaits huge applause after McQueen deliberately lets him win the Piston Cup to help "The King", but the crowd and media are snubbed by his victory and boo Chick Hicks much to his anger on stage. In many ways, Hicks represents how Lightning McQueen could have become.

Hook
Hook (in the original Mater ), dubbed by Reinhard Brock , is a rusty tow truck , namely a 1956 Chevy pickup truck. A113 is on its license plate . He is the self-proclaimed world champion in reversing and explains this with his own philosophy: I don't have to see where I'm going, I just have to know where I've just been. Hook teaches McQueen to reverse, which he also uses in the race when he is rammed by Hicks and turns 180 degrees.
Sally
Sally, dubbed Bettina Zimmermann , is a royal blue 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera . Its California license plate says 301PCE. Sally, McQueen's crush, is the dashing lawyer for Radiator Springs. She came to town a few years ago in her own words: “I've never been happy. I left California and drove until I got stuck here [at the Wheel Well Motel]. Doc fixed me, Flo took me in. All of them actually. And I stayed. ”Sally fell in love with the city and the surrounding countryside and settled in the city. She runs the Cozy Cone Motel. Later, Sally and Lightning reopened the Wheel Well Motel. She calls McQueen "stickers" first to annoy him about his fake headlights. She later used stickers as a friendly nickname. In the British auto magazine Top Gear , Sally was included in the "list of the ten sexiest cars in the world".
Doc Hudson
Doc Hudson, voiced by Friedrich Schoenfelder , will also be Dr. Called Hudson or Doc. 51HHMD is on its license plate. The individual components of the license plate relate to its year of construction (51 for 1951) and the number in the car race and model (HH means Hudson Hornet ) as well as the profession (doctor, because the abbreviation MD means medical doctor). Doc was once known as one of the most famous racing cars to have ever lived. As Fabulous Hudson Hornet (# 51), he won three Piston Cups and still holds the record for most wins in a season. He left the racing scene exhausted, apparently to take the time to study medicine. The famous No.51 disappeared into the darkness, so that many wondered where he had gone.
When he met McQueen, he discovered much of his past in the newbie. Doc was unhappy that McQueen had found out about his past. After McQueen repaired the road he had damaged, he decided to stay for a while. Doc couldn't take him anymore and called the press to bring him back to the Piston Cup immediately, saying it was best for everyone.
However, Hudson Hornet (with his # 51 livery) shows up at the tie-break and supports McQueen. He dies between Cars & Cars 2.
sheriff
Sheriff, dubbed Jochen Striebeck , is a 1949 Mercury Club Coupe police car . His license plate number is 001 of Carburetor County. Sheriff is in the classic paint scheme for American patrol cars, black and white, painted with a single dome-shaped red rotating beacon and two sirens. Sheriff was the first Radiator Springs resident to appear in the film. Sheriff was also the first Lightning McQueen met while on a car chase as he was speeding through town trying to find Mack. After McQueen got caught in the electrical cables and fences, the sheriff said, "Boy, I don't want to be stuck in your body ." He later made friends with McQueen and even offered him an escort to LA. He even sniffed a few times after McQueen finished the road and appeared to be momentarily gone. Sheriff denied this, claiming he was glad Lightning was gone. He also joined the racing team that McQueen supported during the race.
Luigi
Luigi, dubbed Rick Kavanian , is a 1959 Fiat 500 . He is a Scuderia Ferrari fan and has been racing all his life. Its registration number is 445-108 which is the latitude and longitude for the main Ferrari factory in Modena, Italy. Luigi owns a tire shop, Casa Della Tires (Italian-English: House of Tires), and is famous for its leaning tower made of several tires, a reference to the leaning tower of Pisa . His assistant is an Italian forklift named Guido. In contrast to this, he speaks German (or English), but with an accent. There are many framed pictures of Ferraris in his shop. Initially, Luigi and Guido Lightning do not respect McQueen due to the devastation he has caused in the city and because he is not a Ferrari. Later they get to know each other and give him whitewall tires to show him their commitment . During the big race, Luigi and Guido work as McQueen's pit crew, excited to work with a real racing car, even if it's not a Ferrari. In the end, McQueen leads a group of Italian sports cars - a Ferrari F430 (dubbed Michael Schumacher ) and two Maserati Quattroportes - to his business after recommending it to them.
He has an uncle in Italy named Topolino.
Guido
Guido, dubbed Marcantonio Moschettini , is an Isetta- based forklift who works at Luigi's Casa Della Tires and is Luigi's best friend. The only language Guido speaks is Italian, although he also understands German (or English) and speaks a few words (for example pit stop with an Italian accent). His dream is to make a pit stop for a real racing car. During the big race, as a member of McQueen's pit crew, he performed the fastest tire change in Piston Cup history (all four tires in four seconds), shocking Chick Hick's pit crew, who previously made fun of him, thereby making hers Mustaches / grills fall to the floor. Ramone

His license number is "L0WNSL0", which is a reference to his catchphrase "Low and Slow". He is married to Flo, whose restaurant is right next to his shop. bully
Bully (in the original Fillmore ), dubbed by Helmfried von Lüttichau , is a VW Type 2 T1 minibus of the late 1950s / early 1960s classic car, evidenced by its pointed front indicators and a small rear window. Bully's license plate reads "51237", a reference to May 12, 1937, the birthday of George Carlin . He's a stereotypical hippie whose license plate is positioned like a soul patch . He owns a biofuel store (Fillmore's Organic Fuel) that has a variety of flavors and believes gasoline companies rule the public. The morning Neighbor Sargeant plays the military wake-up call and raises the flag of the United States, Bully interrupts Sargeant's wake-up call with Jimi Hendrix's rendition of " The Star-Spangled Banner ". This annoys Sargeant so much that he shouts to bully: "Stop this disrespectful yowling right away!" To which he replied, "Have some respect for the classics, man." This is Hendrix! ”Replies. Nevertheless, he is friends with Sargeant.
Sargeant
Sargeant, voiced by Ekkehardt Belle , is a Willys MB . A veteran in military green paint with a somewhat stylized sergeant major (E-9) badge on his sides. He appears as a Willys MB at the time of World War II . Its registration number reads: "41WW2", which stands for the date the Willys MB entered the service of the US Army (1941 World War II). He runs a spare parts warehouse called "Sarge's Surplus Hut", is a neighbor of Bully and acts as part of McQueen's pit crew by refueling him. At the end of the film, he opens a training camp for SUVs and four-wheel drive cars .
Lizzie
Lizzie, dubbed Nadja Tiller , a Ford Model T , is the widow of the founder of Radiator Springs, Stanley, and is the owner of a souvenir and accessories shop (Radiator Springs Curios). Your license plate "MT23" is a reference to your model and year of manufacture. Her name is derived from Tin Lizzie, one of the T-Model's most popular nicknames. She's a little old and has an eye on Lightning McQueen. When the street is (halfway) finished, she says to Luigi: "Hey, Luigi, next to the new street your shed looks like a garbage dump." Luigi describes her as an old devil woman, but desperates the truth of her words.
Red
Red, voiced by Joe Ranft , is a 1960 Seagrave fire engine . Its license plate number bears the number 002 of Carburetor County. He is shy and emotional, often in tears and / or hiding when upset. He spends most of his time gardening and washing, like the statue of Stanley next to his fire station . At first, Red hates McQueen for running over his flowers on his way to Radiator Springs. But he has forgiven him, which can be seen from the fact that Red drives away crying when the sheriff said he was glad he was gone when he finished the road.
Stanley
Stanley is Lizzie's late husband and was the founder of Radiator Springs. Stanley was likely a Stanley Steamer , a steam-powered automobile. British agents
Finn McMissile
Finn is a metallic blue Aston Martin DB4 who, as a British agent (in the style of James Bond), is supposed to clear up the conspiracy of the "pickle" cars and does so with the help of Holly Shiftwell & Hook. It has all sorts of specifications, but unlike Holly, it cannot fly.
Holly Shiftwell
Holly is a purple Jaguar XJR-15 . She is assigned to Finn McMissile as the messenger (code: "A Karmann Ghia has no cooler" - "Because it is air-cooled") and, according to her own statement, is only suitable for back office work. She is the first to hold Hook for the US agent and befriends him in the process. Holly can fly thanks to nozzles and spoilers, which Finn acknowledges with their status as a new car ("Your new car always gets the best"). At the end of the film, Holly & Finn visit Radiator Springs (where they introduce themselves as Hook's friend) just on the way home from a mission; Holly has become a full-fledged agent.
