The Iso Isetta is a scooter that Iso Rivolta developed in the 1950s and produced in Italy from 1953. Iso Rivolta stopped production in late 1955.

Various companies continued to build the Isetta under license from 1954 until the 1960s. The BMW Isetta became the most successful and best known . Further licensed buildings came from Iso España (Spain), Vélam (France) and Indústrias Romi (Brazil).

The Isetta had a body made of sheet steel on a tubular frame. Your two-stroke - double piston engine with 236 cc displacement made a maximum of 9.5 hp (7 kW) at 4750 / min. A wet multi-plate clutch , a four-speed gearbox without reverse gear, a cardan shaft and an encapsulated chain transferred its power to the rigid rear axle, which was guided by quarter-elliptical cantilever springs and the chain case acting as a drawbar . Because of the narrow track, there was no differential. The front wheels were individually suspended on pushed rockers with rubber springs and friction dampers, which were swiveled as a whole for steering ( Dubonnet wheel suspension). In the steering gear , a threaded spindle worked on a sleeve nut, which acted on the left swing arm mounting via a lever, a steering rod and a steering lever. The two swing arm bearings were connected by the tie rod. The drum brakes (only one at the rear because of the rigid drive) were operated hydraulically.
