Richard Horatio "Rick" Kavanian ( Armenian Ռիխարդ "Ռիկ" Հորացիո Կավանյան / Richard "Rik" Horazio Kawanjan ; born January 26, 1971 in Munich ) is a German actor , comedian and voice actor of Armenian descent. He was best known for the Bully Parade , in which he appeared together with Michael "Bully" Herbig and Christian Tramitz .

Life

Rick Kavanian grew up with his parents, an Armenian immigrant couple from Bucharest , and with his grandmother in Munich. From 1990 to 1994 he studied political science , North American cultural history and psychology in Munich and Augsburg for a total of nine semesters . The collaboration with Herbig began in 1990. Rick Kavanian and Michael Herbig worked as authors and also on the microphone for the Langemann radio show and the morning crew at the Munich radio station Radio Gong 96.3 . After Kavanian 1995-1996 in New York at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute had studied acting, he worked from 1996 together with Herbig for ProSieben telecast Easy Bully and 1997 for the weekly radio show broadcast Bullys Late light show and the Bullyparade . From September 2006 to mid-2009 he toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland with his first own comedy program Kosmopilot . From autumn 2009 he was on tour with his new program Ipanema . From January 2011, Rick Kavanian was a member of the team of Die Klugscheißer , a monthly satirical show on Bavarian TV and Das Erste, alongside Monika Gruber and Bruno Jonas . Since September 2012 he has been on the road in Germany and Austria with his stage programs “Egostrip”, “Dollbohrer” and “Offroad”. He also has a weekly radio comedy in Bayern 3 . Rick Kavanian has lent his voice to numerous film characters as a voice actor. In 2013 he received the German Animation Spokesperson Award at the Stuttgart Animated Film Festival for the voice of “Rusty Knight” in the animated film “Rusty Knight - Iron Hard and Dented” .

He speaks four languages: Armenian , Romanian , German and English .

In the summer of 2016 he acted in various roles on the set of Bullyparade - The Film . The comedy opened in cinemas on August 17, 2017, for the sketch show's twentieth birthday. Again he plays alongside Michael Herbig and Christian Tramitz. The film reached number one in the box office in its first week.

Private

Kavanian lives with his wife Ilka, whom he married in August 2005 after three years of relationship, in the Trudering district of Munich . Kavanian's parents have lived in New York since 1997. He describes the British film actor and versatile comedian Peter Sellers as his personal role model .
