Happy Feet 2 ( English [ˈhæpi fi: t] for Happy Feet ) is an American-Australian computer animation film directed by George Miller from 2011 and is the sequel to Happy Feet (2006).
Kennedy Miller Mitchell and Dr. D Studios produced the film in Sydney , Australia and was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures . In US cinemas, the film also opened in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D on November 18, 2011 ; the German theatrical release took place two weeks later on December 1, 2011.

Mumble is now a respected member of the Emperor Penguins , is in a relationship with his great love Gloria and has a son named Eric with her. When the community sings and dances together, little Eric is the only one who doesn't like the hustle and bustle. His father persuades him to take part, but Erik's involvement ends extremely embarrassing. Ramón, an Adelie penguin who lives with the emperor penguins because of his best friend Mumble, looks for Erik in his hiding place and wants to comfort him, but he feels himself an outsider and dreams of returning to his homeland.
At the same time, Will, the krill , decides to no longer be one of the trillions in the krill swarm and tells his friend Bill to swim against the swarm until he reaches the end of the world. After he has implemented this plan, Will immediately recognizes the true destiny of krill, namely whale food, and decides to turn the food chain around and become a hunting animal, regardless of the objections of his companion Bill.
When Ramón makes his way back to Adelieland, Eric and his friends Atticus and Boadicea, known as Bo, follow him. Contrary to his expectations, Ramón's greeting is very cautious, because next to the rockhopper penguin Lovelace, the focus is now on the puffin Sven from the far north, who is regarded and revered as a flying penguin because of his black and white plumage. He is also the only one who already knows the new spots on the ground due to global warming : green . Before Mumble can bring his son back home, Eric is so captivated by Sven's adventurous stories about his journey and his wisdom that Eric wants to learn to fly with the help of the ultimate power of the "Sven-thinking".
On the way home the ice landscape has changed, a large crevice prevents the quick way back. The only narrow snow bridge is occupied by the elephant seal Bryan the lifeguard, who refuses to go backwards. As the snow gives way, Bryan slides deep into the crevice and appears to be trapped. Mumble discovers an underwater access path, but is unable to break through the separating ice wall. By attracting the attention of a leopard seal and allowing him to hunt him down, the invisible wall can eventually be broken and the elephant seal reappears on the surface. In return, Bryan promises that Mumble could always turn to him if he needed help.
When they have almost reached the breeding ground of the emperor penguins, they cannot pass the access valley as it is blocked by a huge iceberg and their relatives are locked up. The nimble Bo is supposed to return to Adelieland to get help there. Meanwhile, the remaining three are trying to ensure a makeshift supply of fish. But soon the skuas have noticed the desperate situation of the penguins and are waiting for their opportunity to kill their chicks. They only give up when the longed-for help of many different conspecifics rushes over.
Will the krill eventually separates from his loyal friend Bill in order to find a fulfilling mission in life. He takes on any exertion, defies the many dangers and escapes them again and again. As a stowaway on a fish that Sven fished for Gloria, he happened to come across the emperor penguins. From them he learns to have fun dancing.
The temporary feed supply gives them some time, but the ideas for a way out are not very successful. It is Lovelace who discovers the ship of the "aliens" at sea who rescued him from an oil spill a long time ago , cleaned him and put on him the "protective suit", a striped sweater in rainbow colors. This group of people, in turn, recognizes the seriousness of the situation and tries to shovel a path into the steep slope. However, a rapidly gathering snowstorm thwarted this rescue operation, because the sea freezes over and people have to leave quickly with their ship.
In the confusion, Will, the krill, slides through a long hole in the ice to the sea below. There he meets his best friend Bill again, who in the meantime has informed the swarm about the real threats to the outside world and has led them under the ice sheet to protect them from enemies .
After the storm, Mumble discovers that the iceberg is giving in to strong vibrations , but the remaining helping penguins on the top edge aren't heavy enough. Accompanied by his son Erik, he visits the elephant seal Bryan in order to demand the promised offer of help. Bryan, on the other hand, is so busy with the power struggles in his herd that he doesn't care about Mumble's concern. Only when Erik sings a poignant song about promise and honor does Bryan reflect on his obligation and can get all of his fellow dogs to help. Ultimately, they all manage to bring a large part of the iceberg to collapse and free the emperor penguins at the same rhythm .
