Bel Air is a borough of Los Angeles that was founded in 1923 by Alphonzo Bell . The area is bordered to the east by Beverly Crest (separated by Beverly Glen Blvd), to the west by Brentwood ( San Diego Freeway ), to the south by Westwood and the UCLA campus ( Sunset Blvd ). Some of the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains also belong to Bel Air.

Bel Air is known as a posh residential area where many celebrities have their mansions. Therefore it is often referred to as part of the platinum triangle (along with Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills ). The area of ​​Bel Air is hardly interesting for tourists. Although the area itself is freely accessible, freedom of movement is restricted by security guards in private houses.

In addition, former US President Ronald Reagan lived in Bel Air with his wife, former First Lady , Nancy Reagan . He died there on June 5, 2004, and his wife died on March 6, 2016.
