The glacier cut near Fischbach am Inn is one of the best preserved traces of the Quaternary glaciation on the northern edge of the Alps. The near Fischbach in the district of Rosenheim upcoming Triassic Wettersteinkalk was through the rubble laden würmzeitlichen Inn Glacier carved out. The limestone shows numerous typical traces of glacial deformation. Glacier scrapes, which were created by scratching rubble on the Wetterstein limestone, which the moving glacier carried with it. The fine rock material at the base of the glacier polished the surface of the limestone and formed numerous round bumps .

Flowing, sediment-laden and debris-laden water in whirlpool holes and crevices left ponds, glacier mills and gullies on the surface of the Wetterstein limestone.
