The Gljúfrasmiður ( Icelandic ravine builder ) is a waterfall in the northeast of Iceland .
The waterfall is about 5 km south (as the crow flies) of the confluence of the Kreppa in the Jökulsá á Fjöllum . The Öskjuleið runs about 1.5 km to the west. This is the highland road from the ring road to Herðubreiðarlindir and on to Askja in the highlands .
