Egger bell foundry
The Egger bell foundry was a Swiss bell foundry in the town of Staad (SG) in the canton of St. Gallen on the southern shore of Lake Constance .
history
Founded in 1873 by Jakob Egger , the bell foundry manufactured numerous bronze bells in bronze alloys for churches in Eastern Switzerland in the late 19th and early 20th centuries . In addition, she produced the yokes in ironwork for the bells that had been commissioned. The company was managed by Jakob Egger until 1921. He was followed by Wilhelm Egger until 1926 . After that, the foundry continued to run until it closed in 1940. First until 1934 by Fritz Hamm and until 1940 under the company name Glockengiesserei Staad AG . Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling completed his training here in 1933.
