Glomus is a genus from the department of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi with about 90 described species thatsecretea protein called glomalin . This protein sticks together tiny earth particles in the soil to form small spheres. This changes the soil structure in a beneficial way for plants, because the soil becomes permeable to air and stores water. The MSR medium is optimizedfor in-vitro cultivation.
