Gloss Drop is the second studio album by the US math rock band Battles . It was released on Warp Records in June 2011 . The band announced a tour to promote the album.

Gloss Drop is the band's first release after singer Tyondai Braxton split from the band. Therefore, the majority of the album is instrumental, but vocals are provided by many guest performers, including the electronic musician Gary Numan and Kazo Makino from the American dream pop band Blonde Redhead .

Ice Cream was the first single from the album. It was released on May 23, 2011, both digitally and on 12-inch vinyl. The vinyl version was limited to 3000 copies and was released in three different "flavors". The directing collective CANADA from Barcelona produced a music video for the song . The single contains the songs "Black Sundome" and an instrumental version of "Ice Cream" as B-sides .
