history

The Gnadenkirche was built in the mid-1950s. In the 1980s, the town hall with a brick facade was added.

Due to declining financial resources and church attendance, the Rietberg presbytery decided to give up the Gnadenkirche in Mastholte in December 2011. The church has 800 parishioners. The regional church office of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia confirmed the decision on December 6, 2011. The last service was celebrated on December 26, 2011. After the final dedication, the baptismal bowl and other objects were brought to the remaining Protestant church in Rietberg. A subsequent use is still unclear (as of December 2011).
