Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus Gaetulicus (Consul 26)
Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus Gaetulicus was a Roman politician and senator . He was a son of the consul of the year 1 BC. BC, Cossus Cornelius Lentulus and a brother of the consul of the year 25, Cossus Cornelius Lentulus .
In 23 he was Praetor peregrinus , three years later he was full consul alongside Gaius Calvisius Sabinus . Between 29 and 39 he was commander of the Upper German Army for ten years . He was related by marriage to Sejan (his daughter was married to his son), which brought him an indictment by Abudius Ruso , which he survived intact . He was executed on charges that he was involved in a coup against Caligula . His wife was Apronia Caesennia, whose father was a legate of the Lower Germanic Army. His son was Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus Gaetulicus .
Lentulus Gaetulicus was the author of casual poems and erotic epigrams about his wife.
