Shizhen lu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Shizhen lu ( Chinese食 珍 录; 'Record of Food and Delicacies') by Yu Cong (虞 悰) is a source on the history of Chinese food and drink culture, which probably dates back to the Song Dynasty and contains material from the Includes period of Southern and Northern Dynasties , Sui Dynasties, and Tang Dynasties .

In the old book collection Shuofu , Yu Cong (虞 悰) from the time of the Liu Song dynasty (which lasted from 420 to 479) is given as the author; in the book collection Gujin tushu jicheng , Yu Cong (虞 悰) from the time of Song dynasty indicated.

According to the content of the book, stories from the Tang period are told, so it cannot have been written in the Liu Song period . The likelihood that the author dates from the Song Dynasty is relatively high. There is also a Yu Cong (虞 悰) from the time of the Southern Qi Dynasty (which lasted from 479 to 502) who (according to Nanshi (南史), the "History of the Southern Dynasties") "was a wealthy man from a rich family and loved good taste ”.

The Shizhen lu was written by Yu Cong (虞 悰), or it was written and attributed to a later living human being, or it was written by an author with the same name.

This book is relatively inefficient, it only tells about a dozen anecdotes about cooking, drinks and food from the time of the Southern and Northern Dynasties , Sui Dynasties, and Tang Dynasties .
