Goães is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Goães belongs to the Vila Verde county in the Braga district . The community had an area of ​​3.1 km² and 546 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the communities of Goães, Godinhaços , Pedregais , Azões , Portela das Cabras , Duas Igrejas and Rio Mau were merged to form the new community of União das Freguesias da Ribeira do Neiva .
