God Hand is a Japanese video game produced by Capcom and developed for the PlayStation 2 by Clover Studio under the direction of designer Shinji Mikami .
Setting
The game is set in a fantastic Japanese wild west scenario. The player takes on the role of Gene, a young man who is equipped with a special arm, the God Hand , which gives him extraordinary powers. There are also various criminals after the hand of God and hound Gene their henchmen on the body. The whole game is extremely exaggerated and plays with various clichés.
Gameplay
In the game you fight your way from one area to the next and gradually get new combos and skills. You can often interact with objects in the world of the game, such as B. with barrels that you can throw at enemies to make them explode. A special feature of the game is the ability to individually put together new combos from various punches and kicks and thus develop completely individual fighting moves.
Graphics and technology
God Hand's graphics were not up to date when the game was released. In addition, many graphic errors clouded the presentation. However, this did not harm the good playability.
criticism
The game received largely only moderate reviews. Above all, the modest graphics and graphics errors were criticized. However, the satirical and silly presentation and the good combo system as well as the generally good gameplay were praised, so that 4Players .de awards 70%. Others
- Gene, the protagonist of the game, almost had an appearance as a fighter in Capcom's beat 'em up Marvel vs. Obtained Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds . However, Capcom then decided on Amaterasu from Ōkami .
