Goddess of Desire is a Dutch band belonging to True Metal or Thrash Metal . They earned a good reputation within the metal scene, which is due, among other things, to their lavish live show.

In addition to their four official CD releases, as well as a few other releases on vinyl and video , the band has so far been able to come up with appearances on Dutch television and at many scene-relevant festivals.

Band history

Goddess of Desire was founded in 1995, mainly as a fun project. In the early days they mainly played cover songs from the heavy metal sector of the 80s, but very soon began to write their own songs and develop their own, unmistakable style.

Already the fourth appearance of the band was partially broadcast on Dutch TV. In the following years several shows were played, mainly in Central Europe, among others with greats such as Destruction , Gwar , Therion , Rockbitch and Gorefest , but also countless concerts at which Goddess of Desire himself appeared as headliners. As career highlights, appearances at some metal festivals, such as B. the Dynamo Open Air (1997), Metal Bash or the Wacken Open Air (1998 and 2005), but also Europe-wide tours, among other things as support for Sodom .

The live show

An important feature of the band are their live performances. Goddess Of Desire offer an imaginatively designed stage show in which specially made costumes consisting of pieces of fur, studded leather and metal chains are worn. In addition to these berserk costumes, countless pyro effects are used, as well as various props and extras . The stage setting is rather gloomy and drawn from medieval weapons, skulls and torches, which has certain similarities to Alice Cooper and some other bands of the Hard & Heavyscene. Lascivious dancers also perform in parts of the show, adding a special, bizarre eroticism to the show.
