The Godwin Austen Glacier is a glacier in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan .
It rises between the horseshoe-shaped ridge that connects the K2 with the Broad Peak via the Skyang Kangri and then flows south to Concordiaplatz . There it unites with the Upper Baltoro Glacier to form the Baltoro Glacier . It has a length of about 20 km. The catchment area of the Godwin Austen Glacier is framed by the following mountains and peaks: K2 ( 8611 m ), Broad Peak ( 8051 m ), Skyang Kangri ( 7357 m ), Skil Brum ( 7350 m ), Summa Ri I ( 7286 m ) and Praqpa Kangri ( 7134 m ).
The glacier was named after Henry Haversham Godwin-Austen . The name suggested the British researcher William Martin Conway .
