The Goethestrasse 56 building is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .
location
It is located on the south side of Goethestrasse in Magdeburg's Stadtfeld Ost district . Goethestrasse 55 , which is also listed, is adjacent to the west and building 57 to the east .
Architecture and history
The two and a half storey building was built in 1909 by the architect Peter Schneider . Master bricklayer Reinhold Radisch was the builder of the Art Nouveau style house . A segment-arched bay window is placed in front of the western half of the facade . It has set pilasters . Above the bay window there is a with decorative half-timbered provided dormer . The facade of the building is cautiously decorated with garlands in forms of the late Art Nouveau. The house is covered with a mansard roof .
In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 76700 .
Together with the neighboring houses Goethestrasse 55, 57 and 58, the house is part of a largely closed row of houses near the eastern end of Goethestrasse.
