List of rose varieties

The rose variety ' Golden Celebration' , syn. 'Ausgold' is an English rose that David Austin introduced in 1992. She is a descendant of ' Charles Austin ' x ' Abraham Darby '.

education

The rose has large inwardly curved, bowl-shaped flowers that appear on elegant overhanging stems. The flowers are intensely copper-yellow in color and are characterized by innumerable small red dots, especially in the later flowering stage. The flowers spread an intense fragrance, especially in warm and humid weather, which initially reminds of tea roses and then turns into a mixture of dry wine and strawberries . The up to 15 cm large flowers appear in small, long-stemmed clusters on arching overhanging branches. However, due to their loose filling, they are prone to rain. A characteristic feature of the rose are the dark green, glossy leaves, which contrast strongly with the intense yellow color of the flowers.

In Central European latitudes, the rose is about 1.20 m high and 1.20 m wide and can also be grown as a climbing rose . The remontant shrub rose is hardy and disease resistant .

Awards

The 'Golden Celebration' was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit in 2002. At the Rose Awards Day 2000 she received an award for Best Shrub Rose and Best Scented Rose.
