James Bond chases Goldfinger is the seventh novel in the James Bond serieswrittenby Ian Fleming , the English original of which was firstpublished in Englandon March 23, 1959 under the name Goldfinger . In Germany, the translation appeared in the same year when Heyne Verlag as a hardcover .

In April 2013 a new and, for the first time, unabridged translation was published by Cross Cult publisher under the title Goldfinger as a paperback.

The book served as a template for the third film in the series, which appeared in 1964 under the name Goldfinger . Sean Connery took on the role of agent for the third time. The film won an Oscar for best sound editing and received an honorary Oscar for technical merit .
