The Goldkammer Frankfurt is an art and cultural history museum in Frankfurt am Main - Westend , which is privately financed and operated.

The museum

The museum contains 500 gold artifacts from different cultures and eras, which are presented in underground chambers. The exhibits are supplemented by digital stations that provide information on the origin and meaning, processing and use of gold . The Goldkammer Frankfurt is managed by Kai Baumgartner, the museum director is Nadja Tomoum, the commercial management is in the hands of Antje Nelleßen. The private museum opened on May 25, 2019. The Goldkammer Frankfurt includes an event room for private events and lectures as well as an attached museum café and restaurant. It is operated by Goldkammer Frankfurt GmbH as a subsidiary of Degussa Goldhandel GmbH .

The building

The museum is housed in the late classicist house, built around 1850, with a baroque extension at Kettenhofweg 27. The building is a listed building as part of an overall system . Before the conversion took advantage of the day care center of Allianz Insurance , Villa Villekulla , the building from 1991 to 2014.Im framework of the European Heritage Tags gold Frankfurt Chamber is nestled on 13 September 2020, part of a commission followed by guided tour.

Special exhibitions

In 2020 the operator is planning a special exhibition on a topic that has not yet been communicated.
